Why is the project relevant to you?

Local Authorities tend to be the ‘responsible authority’ to lead the preparation of the strategy for each LNRS. You will be involved with, or your colleagues will have been involved in their creation. Once the strategies have been creating the next step will be looking at the various opportunities for the delivery of the prioritised measures, the planning system will likely be seen as a key delivery route.

Key messages for Town and Country Planning Specialists

With environmental priorities there will never be one answer. What the LNRS process will do is highlight the appropriate actions that contribute to the overarching ambition of nature protection and recovery.

This project has demonstrated that data driven analysis can provide a list of measures, however it is important to remember that this type of approach does not substitute the need for expert input from identified stakeholders/practitioners.
